A wet weekend is in store beginning tonight as a storm system approaches the area and brings a mix of rain/snow overnight into Saturday morning. As temperatures begin to reach the upper 30s by late morning, all precipitation should changeover to rain for Saturday. Saturday evening temperatures will fall again bringing light snow moving from the west to the east, and exiting the area late Sunday morning as this system moves eastward. Rainfall amounts vary but are generally around a half inch for the area. As for snow, accumulations of a half inch up to one inch are expected, with slightly higher amounts possible in far northeast Kansas.
