The Blessings for Becky fundraising campaign has topped its $50,000 fundraising goal.

A 30-gun raffle and the raffle of other items Saturday night at the George Smith Reception Hall generated $7,200, bringing the total raised to support Becky Keating and her family to $56,400. Approximately 300 people attended the event.

Becky suffers from cystic fibrosis, and is awaiting a double lung transplant. She is currently staying in Texas near the location where a lung transplant can be performed and where the doctors who would handle that procedure are located. She is on a waiting list for the surgery.

The funds raised in Geary County will go to help Becky and her family defray expenses not covered by insurance.

Fundraising coordinator Josh Allen of the Junction City Fire Department said the Blessings for Becky account will remain open at Central National Bank if people want to continue to donate.
