The Junction City Commission has agreed to support a letter to state officials on environmental issues at
Milford Lake. Specifically this involves the blue green algae problem at the reservoir that have led to numerous warnings and advisories, and that has had a detrimental effect on lake usage and revenues.
The mayor of the city of Milford, Brad Roether, told the Junction City Commission this week that the letter prepared by the Milford city attorney will go to the State, to the governor, every elected officials to see what is being done or if there is anything that can be done to “corral this problem at Milford Lake.”
Roether reported that the mayors of Clay Center and Wakefield, plus the county commissioners of both Clay and Geary County had signed the letter. The signature of Junction City Mayor Mike Ryan will also be added to the letter.
