Martin Luther King Jr. is being remembered in Junction City. 

Weekend activities included a youth summit on Saturday.

Sunday evening at 5 o’clock there will be a gospel tribute , and there will be a commemoration ceremony on Monday at 10 a.m. Both events Sunday and Monday will be held at the Junction City Church of the Nazarene, 1025 South Washington.

A member of the planning committee for the activities, Daphne Maxwell said it’s truly a community event.  She noted it is community not only for Junction City and Geary County, but also surrounding communities.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “The Color of Unity.”
