A number of topics from regional branding to a possible regional economic development organization
are up for discussion at the Leaders Retreat in Overland Park this week.
Manhattan, Junction City, and Wamego Chambers of Commerce members are participating in the event at the Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center.
Developing a brand for the region is one item. Mark Ediger, member of the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, says phase one received attention. “Phase one was defining, branding, and marketing a program. What’s important to us, what is our message going to be. Define what the region is and who the target audience is.
Once the target audience is determined a document and plan can be developed.
The chairman of the Chamber board in Junction City Ty Arneson confirmed land use received attention. “Well I think the issue they are talking about as much as anything is defining what you have and being able to market that.”
