The Junction City Lady Jays picked up their first basketball win of the season by defeating Highland
Park at the Shenk Gym 45-38 Tuesday night.
Lady Jay coach Nate Parks said his players have been working hard. “We’ve been getting better. We haven’ t been rewarded yet with a win, and it was good to get one today.”
Kealee Rains led Junction City with 11 points in the win.
Highland Park led 8-7 after the first quarter, but it was Junction City on top 19-16 at halftime, and 34-27 after three quarters.
The Lady Jays are 1-7 on the season while Highland Park fell to 3-4.
