Gregory Haug was in Riley County Court Monday morning with Judge Stutzman presiding. Haug was
arrested August 23, 2013 after Riley County Police issued a warrant for his arrest in relation to the November 2013 death of Jordan Forbit, 18, Elkhart.
According to the evidence provided by the State, Haug and Forbit acquired heroin on November 20, 2013, and then preceded to move to a vehicle in the K-State student parking lot to use the heroin. Haug assisted in Forbit taking the heroin, Forbit’s first time using the drug, and then administered it to himself. According to the Forbit’s autopsy, his death was caused by an overdose of the drug. Forbit was a freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences at Kansas State University. He was a resident of Haymaker Hall.
Haug plead no contest to aggravated battery, possession of heroin and interference with law enforcement. One count of conspiracy to possess heroin was dismissed via the plea deal. Sentencing for Haug will be on January 26, 2014 at 9 a.m.
