USD 475 Horizon Award Winner

Kansas 2015 Horizon Award for distinguished eduators who have completed one year of teaching.

Miller was notified of the honor when she received a telephone call from Kansas Interim Commissioner of Education, Bad Neuenswander.

The award is sponsored by the Kansas Department of Education and the Kansas Cable Telecommunications Association. The program identifies exemplary educators who perform in a way that distinguishes them as outstanding, and who have completed one year of teaching in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.

Miller is one of 32 teachers across Kansas to be honored with the award this year.

Miller said she was “very honored, excited and surprised,” to receive the award. her goal in the classroom is to “be a caring adult that helps students be the best they can be, both in the classroom and in life.”  She will be recognized at the Kansas Exemplary Educators Network annual conference in February.
