The funeral for former longtime basketball coach Carl Taylor has been scheduled Friday morning from 10-11:30 a.m. at Christian Tabernacle Church of God & Christ.

Visitation hours are Thursday from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. at E.S. Eley and Sons Funeral Home in Kansas City, Missouri, and again Friday from 9-10 a.m. at the church.

Burial will be in Leavenworth Cemetery immediately following the funeral service at 12:30 p.m.

Taylor coached the Junction City Blue Jay boys basketball program in the late 1980s and early 90s, and also had a stint as the head coach for Lady Jay softball.  He later coached at Wichita Southeast and Wichita West. His boys basketball teams at Wichita Southeast won three Class 6A state titles.
