The new Junction City Manager Allan Dinkel began work in that position Monday.

He said you spend the first week on the job trying to learn as much about the city as possible. “Of course meeting office staff, viewing some facilities. Throughout this week and next I’ll be having specifically two and three hour meetings with each department head so I can get a grasp of everything that’s happening.”

Dinkel also attended the Junction City Commission meeting on Tuesday night.

Dinkel has spent the past four years as the city administrator in Neodesha. He filled the position in Junction City formerly held by Gerald Smith, who resigned last April.
