The final day to register for the Leaders’ Retreat is this Friday, January 9.

The Retreat is January 16 and 17 at the Sheraton Overland Park Hotel at the Convention Center.

The Leader’s Retreat is sponsored jointly by the Junction City, Manhattan, and Wamego Area Chambers of Commerce.   The focus will be on Economic Development: Regionalism in Practice.

The next Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours has been scheduled January 22 at Sunflower Bank at 510 North Jefferson.

There will be an Antique Showcase at the Geary County Historical Museum Friday, February 6 at 6:30 p.m.

Museum Executive Director Sara Moppin said for $20 per person you receive a pork loin dinner, and you can bring one item to have researchers and experts look up the history on it, and hopefully give you an appraisal. There will be a showcase of items as well as part of the program.

Tickets are on sale now. They end January 30.

Those attending are asked to keep items to sizes that can be carried by one person.

There will be a chili and chicken noodle soup dinner at the Zion United Church of Christ, 1811 McFarland Road, Friday January 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The cost for the dinner is $6.

Proceeds will support local charities through Wheels of Hope. Homeless school families, emergency clothing for schools, Food Pantry, CASA, and the Crisis Center are among those that will benefit.
