The Junction City High School group that performed at the Valero Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Texas this past week returned to Junction City early Sunday morning.

The group included about 175 people, consisting of the JCHS Marching Band, Chamber Orchestra, and JC Singers, plus faculty and adult sponsors.

According to band director T. J. Taylor the original plan was to arrive home about 10 p.m. Saturday, but traffic congestion in both Austin and Fort Worth, Texas, and snow from about Wichita on north in Kansas made travel slower. While they were traveling in the snow the vehicles moved at about 40 miles per hour from Wichita to Salina, and then east to Junction City.

The arrival time was approximately 1:30 a.m. Sunday in Junction City.
