Lady Jays and Blue Jays Fall to Hays High

It was a tough trip to western Kansas for the Junction City Blue Jays and Lady Jays Tuesday night.

The Lady Jays fell to the Hays High Lady Indians 54-43 in a ball game blue jay logowhere Hays got 17 points from Audra Schmeidler and 10 points from Haley George.

On the other side Junction City was led by A’Kia Fain with 15 points, followed by Alana Kramer, off of the bench, with 11 points and Kealee Rains had 9 points before fouling out.

The Lady Jays got within one, 34-33 after three quarters before the Lady Indians pulled away to win 54-43.

Lady Jays fall to 0-4 on the season and the Lady Indians improved to 3-3.

On the boys side the Blue Jays fell to Hays 69-53.

The Blue Jays kept it close early in the game leading by one at one point before Hays went on an 8-0 run to end the second quarter and go into half time with a 36-28 lead.

Hays High continued their roll into the second half as they held on to the 69-53 victory.

The Blue Jays were led in scoring by Ricardo Erans who finished with 11 points. Hays was led by their 6’7″ center Brady Werth who finished with 20 points. Cash Hobson and Keith Dryden both added 16 points for the Indians.

Hays improved to 5-1 and Junction City fell to 1-3 on the season.

Junction City will now now travel to Manhattan on Friday to take on the Manhattan High Indians. You can catch that broadcast on the “Talk of JC” 1420 am beginning at 6 p.m. Friday night.
