Blue Jays Roll Past Wichita North

The Junction City Blue Jays put 50 points on the board in the first, and then went on to defeat the blue jay logoWichita North Redskins 50-6 in the final regular season game for the two teams.

Playing in Wichita, Junction City scored in the first half on three touchdown runs by Jovon Baldwin, on a 60-yard punt return by Raye Wilson, and an interception return for a TD by Raye Wilson. The Blue Jays also got a 35 yard field goal by Wayne Shirley, a touchdown pass play from Ryan Henington to Xavier DeGuzman, and a touchdown run by Downey Wood.

With the Blue Jays substituting liberally in the second half the Redskins were able to put one touchdown on the board early in the fourth quarter.

Wichita North finished the season 1-8, while the Blue Jays are 7-2 and Class 6A District Six champions. Junction City will now prepare to host a Class 6A Regional postseason playoff game against Wichita West next Friday night at Al Simpler Stadium.

Wichita West finished the regular season with a 2-7 record.
