The City of Junction City has been under a Water Watch since the middle of July and it may finally be coming to an end within the next week.
Greg McCaffery, Municipal Services Director explained Wednesday that they
have been monitoring the cities water usage and have seen a steady drop over the past couple of weeks.
“That is a result of obviously more rain occurring in the month of October and cooler temperatures,” says McCaffery.
Under a water watch residents were asked to voluntarily implement water restrictions.
Currently the city is watching for water usage to remain around 3.5 million gallons of water a day for a consistent number of days before the watch is cancelled.
McCaffery believes city staff will recommend for it to be cancelled on Friday and have a resolution before the city commission on Tuesday to officially cancel the watch.
