B & B Gem Theatre officials are planning to open their facility in Junction City the first week of November.

Brock Bagby with B & B Theatres said the opening day will be Nov. 6 with early sneak looks at Big Hero Six, and Interstellar.   “Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. At 7 p.m. we’ll be premiering Big Hero Six. At 7:30 we’ll have an episode of Big Hero Six. At 8 p.m. we’ll premiere Interstellar, and at 8:30 there will be another Interstellar.”

There are four auditoriums in the renovated theatre building on West 6th Street. As part of the project the entire interior of the building was gutted and remodeled. Changes were also made to the exterior.

“Big Hero Six is a Disney family movie for the holiday season, while Interstellar is a sci-fi mystery adventure picture starring Matthew McConaughey.

One feature in the new theatre is the motorized recliner seating. There are more than 400 seats. “Of course every single seat is a luxury recliner.” Three of the four auditoriums seat about 90, while one seats 130 people.  Bagby expects all of the auditoriums to be completed by Friday, and the final stages of the lobby and exterior of the building by next week.

Movie-goers can reserve seats early before movies. Bagby said show times will be expanded on the weekends, with up to five show times.
