The Geary County Rural Fire Department will host an open house at the Pleasant View Fire Station #8 Thursday evening from six to eight o’clock.  The station is located across from the entrance to Milford State Park.

Curt Janke, Assistant Rural Fire Chief, said if you are interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter there will be applications at the open house.

Janke noted this is one of the newer fire stations for the county. “They’ll get a chance to see the trucks they would be running and operating, and meet the people that are already out there that are already county firefighters.”
