Junction City Commissioner Mick McCallister sees a lot of positives on the recent trip by local
elected officials to the Association of the United States Army convention in Washington D.C.

McCallister said Tuesday night the local delegation had the opportunity to meet the staffs of congressional and Senate leaders. “We came away with a lot of good information. They listened to us. They understood what we were saying. It was a very good interaction.”

McCallister noted they were also able to work with partners at Fort Riley.  “That was very good time well spent. I think the lines of communication have been opened a little wider with our partners out on Fort Riley.” McCallister said it was a successful trip that will pay nothing but dividends in the future.
