Kansas State added two transfers that are both 6′ 11″ tall in Brandon Bolden and Stephen Hurt. They are expected to provide some help for Thomas Gipson at the post position.

“I’m always going to be anchored down low, that’s kind of my thing, I will never shy away from it,” says Gipson, “but guys like Stephen Hurt that can shoot, Brandon Bolden is very athletic, it’s just going to bring a different variety and a lot of depth coming off of the bench.”

Gipson also said that this years team is very diverse and should be very strong offensively. Having the depth will be important for the Wildcats and Gipson said that a number of the ones who will be coming off of the bench are capable of being starters as well.

“The people coming off of the bench can start, it’s real good. Our practices are real competitive. That’s just how we get better everyday.”

Kansas State will open the season with an exhibition game on November 9th against Washburn University at Bramlage Coliseum and will officially tip off the season against Southern Utah at 8 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 14 in the second game of a men’s and women’s doubleheader at Bramlage Coliseum.
