The Junction City Commission has turned down the latest proposal from Mechanized Design on
the proposed purchase of the former Jupiter building in the I-70 Industrial Park.
That occurred Tuesday night after it was determined last week that city staff would try to negotiate with the company to locate their main headquarters in the building.
Chamber of Commerce CEO Tom Weigand confirmed the proposal from the company had been turned down.
Mechanized Design wants to move from their temporary facilities on McDowell Creek Road into the Jupiter building. They produce precision agriculture equipment, specifically an auto probe which helps farm users make educated decisions on inputs for products.
A possible deal with the deal City is not dead at this point.
