The construction tech house being built by Chapman High School students sold early this year. In the past that occurred near the end of the school year. But this time the house was sold before the construction was completed.
Lacee Sell, Superintendent, said the USD 473 Board of Education accepted the high bid this week. The school district had been approached by some community members about the possibility of pre-selling the house. “And so we received a couple of bids. It needed to be higher than $62,000, that was our minimum bid. And our highest bid came in at $69,100. So we were tickled to death.”
The house being built will consist of three bedrooms and two baths. It is due to be completed by May. Students do the majority of the work on it. Outside assistance is brought in for the electrical and plumbing work.
