The Geary County Rural Fire Department will host Open Houses at two of t heir rural fire
stations next week.
Both stations have undergone major changes in recent years, including new buildings for housing firefighting equipment.
Garry Berges, Rural Fire Chief, said personnel will be present to show those who attend the buildings, the firefighting equipment, and they will attempt to sign up new volunteer firefighters for both locations.
The open houses are:
–Tuesday, Oct. 21 6-8 p.m. at McDowell Creek Fire Station ( 7 ), 12448 Lower McDowell Road, Manhattan, Ks. ( approximately 4 miles south of I-70 and Exit 307 ).
–Thursday, Oct. 23 6-8 p.m. at Pleasant View Fire Station ( 8 ), 3500 Pleasant View Road, Milford, KS, ( located north end of Old Milford Road before K-57 Highway–across from the entrance to Milford State Park ).
