Construction is underway on the new Fort Riley Elementary school off of Rifle Range Road.
Dr. Corbin Witt, USD 475 Superintendent said Monday that construction is on
schedule on the new school.
“If you drive by you can see concrete and steal going up, and it’s pretty exciting. You can see parts of the parking lot taking shape and it’s on schedule,” says Witt.
Bids for the approximately $20 million school did originally come in a little over $4 million higher than expected. The Board of Education was able to cut the overage by $2 million and are continuing to look for additional funding.
