Geary County Public Works crews will be laying down an overlay on East Street starting Tuesday morning.

The county is working in partnership with the city of Junction City to complete the project. County Commissioner Florence Whitebread explained that city crews have already milled the street and county crews will be doing the overlay.

“The city has had it milled already and that’s all done so it’s ready for the overlay. There is a lot of traffic so people will need to be aware tomorrow (Tuesday) that traffic may be halted for some time while they complete a section so they can get them through,” said Whitebread.

The project does run from the round-a-bout off of I-70 to 8th Street in Junction City.
