4-H Members to Participate in Service Challenge

More than 30 4-H members in Geary County will participate in the Kansas 4-H 48four - h Hours of 4-H Service Challenge next weekend (Oct. 11-12 ).

The project was created as a way to challenge 4-H members to explore their service capabilities and make a difference in their communities and counties.

Service projects include:

–Volunteering on Saturday, October 11 at the Junction City / Geary County Animal Shelter from 9 a.m. to noon. Possible duties range from walking dogs and socializing cats to cleaning and pulling weeds.

–Volunteering at Milford Nature Center as trail guides for the Monster Myths by Moonlight program on Saturday, October 11 from 5-9 p.m.

–Volunteering at Valley View Senior Life to play games with the residents on Sunday, October 12 from 2-4 p.m.
