MANHATTAN, Kan- Members of the Riley County Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit arrested a McPherson man for several drug offenses Wednesday night.

Detectives arrested Melvin Kirk, 61, McPherson, in the 900 block of Pottawatomie in Manhattan.

He was arrested for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia at the felony level, and interference with law enforcement.

Kirk was given a bond of $15,000.00 and he was confined at the Riley County Jail.

As a result of this arrest approximately 8 grams of cocaine with a street level value of $600.00 and approximately 72 grams of marijuana with a street level value of $750.00 were seized.
