Gerald G. “Gerry” Geringer, 81, Junction City died Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Chapman Valley Manor in Chapman.

Geringer was a longtime administrator at Geary Community Hospital, and later a member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing the 65th District that included Junction City. Geringer also served 26 years in the U.S. Army, retiring at the rank of LTC. Later in his career he served as a medical consultant throughout the State of Kansas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Monday Oct. 6 at St. Xavier Catholic Church with Father Kerry Ninemire officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery near Manhattan.
A visitation will be held from from 2-4 pm. at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel, 203 North Washington Street. Memorial contributions may be given to the USD 475 Foundation Scholarship Fund for medical scholarships.
