A Junction City business owner recently received the Rookie of the Year and Excellence in Mentoring Awards from Rainbow International corporate.

Rick Swango has been the Owner and CEO of Rainbow International of East Central Kansas in Junction City for just under two years. He recently traveled to Orlando, Florida to attend the Dwyer Group International Conference held September 7-10.

He said that he was just watching the presentation of awards ceremony when they called out his name.

“I couldn’t even believe it, I was flabbergasted that they called my name after they had read off this sheet of what this particular franchisee, being us, had done to receive that award,” says Swango. “I was just floored, I couldn’t believe it.”

Swango and Rainbow International of East Central Kansas were awarded the honors for outstanding performance in sales, a focus on building their organization, and showing a commitment to upholding the quality reputation of the Rainbow International brand and system.

The business was placed on a mentoring list that will bring other franchisee’s to Junction City to learn from Swango and his team.

“We’ve already had, since this has happened, we’ve had two franchisee’s one from Houston and other places, and there will be more that are actually coming to Junction City, staying with us for a week or longer at a time to learn from us how to run their business.”

Rainbow International is located off of Lacey Drive in Junction City and offers a broad range of damage restoration services ranging from water, smoke and fire damage, to carpet and upholstery cleaning and deodorization.
