Becky Keating, 24, a Junction City native has spent the past couple of months living in Dallas as she awaits a double lung transplant.

Josh Allen, with the Junction City Fire Department has been in charge of raising funds for Keating and updated JCpost.com on her status Tuesday.
“Becky is on a new medication now so she is doing a little bit better, which is good news and kind of bad news at the same time. Because she is doing better she got bumped down to number three on her waiting list for transplant now, she was at number one. The good news is, she is being able to breath a little better now, so that’s a good thing,” explained Allen.
There is no timetable for when she may receive a transplant. She is staying with family in the Fort Worth area. Allen did say that the doctors are still confident that the transplant will work for her,”it’s just a matter of us getting a donor for her.”
The Junction City Fire Department is continuing to raise funds to help Keating. They will be holding a benefit golf tournament on October 11th at Rolling Meadows. The tournament will be a four man scramble, and Harley Davidson will be giving away a motorcycle for a hole in one.
A 30 gun raffle is also being held on January 24th. Tickets can be purchased at Jack and Dicks Pawn Shop or Coaches Grill and Bar.
