Several fire departments responded to a house fire last night around 9:30 p.m., at 229 12th Street in Ogden. 
According to Riley County Emergency Management Director Pat Collins, the fire started in the garage of the residence. The garage was attached to the house by a two additions. The fire caused the garage to collapse, pushing the fire into the rest of the home.
Over 30 firefighters responded to the fire, with Manhattan Fire Department, Ogden, Canton, Keats and Ft. Riley all sending engines to Ogden.
The occupants of the home were present at the time of the fire, and left the residence after smelling smoke. Two neighbors called 911 after seeing the fire in the garage.
Fire investigators believe the fire was electrical in nature. Damage is estimated at $100,000, including damage done to the garage, two additions and home contents.
