The Junction City area Chamber of Commerce will be holding a chamber retreat Wednesday at the Rock Springs 4-H Center.

Tom Weigand, Chamber CEO explained the retreat will focus on looking at the organization, where it is today and what it should look like going forward.

“If we’ve got the right people in the right place, we’re doing the right things. If we’re trying to do too much, if we’re not doing enough. As we hire the new Economic Development person where will they fit in the organization and just reviewing and going forward,” says Weigand.

He went on to say that it’s hard to say if there will be any major changes coming out of the retreat, but does expect there will be some changes in the position that he occupies.

“I know that we will want to review, and they will want my opinion where we are, what I would suggest going forward, and then they will give their input.”

Jeff Adams, Regional Planner with the Flint Hills Regional Council will be facilitating the retreat.

The retreat will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, and the Chamber Board of Directors will hold their meeting following the retreat.
