The Geary County Commission received an update Monday on the Feature Length movie partially filmed in Geary County last summer.

The film “The Bender Claim” was filmed last summer in a portion of Geary County and did feature a number of local actors.

Connie Hall, Geary County Convention and Visitors Bureau Director informed the Commission Monday that the film is still being produced.

Ben Bennett, County Commissioner said,”They have basically cut the movie and now they are adding the sound to it. It will be a few more months before they are ready to make any releases, but at least we know they are working on it.”

Filming wrapped up in Geary County last August. Co-Writers, John Alexander and JC Guest are planning to take the film, once complete, to film festivals across the globe. A special premier is also expected to take place in Junction City.
