The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has once again placed Milford Lake under
combined “Advisory / Warning” status.
The Corps of Engineers issued the latest blue green algae release for the lake on Thursday.
The areas north of Farnum Creek will be placed in a “Warning” level status while all areas south of Farnum creek will be listed in the “Advisory” level status. Cell counts at four of the five locations where samples were collected this past Monday showed significant improvements and toxin levels remain low to slightly elevated at all locations.
KDHE will again collect samples next Monday to monitor conditions.
