Two Kansans dead, 2 hospitalized after Sunday evening accident

ELLSWORTH- Two people were killed in an accident just before 6:30 p.m. on Sunday in Ellsworth County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Chevy Impala driven by John B. Anderson, 70, Osborne, was north bound on Kansas 14 and stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Kansas 156. The Impala proceeded through the intersection and hit a southbound 2013 Dodge Durango driven by Darin C. Martin, 44, Claflin.

Passengers in the Durango William A. Rabas, 64, and Delores L. Rabas, 56, both of Russell were pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Parsons Funeral Home in Ellsworth.

Martin was transported to Ellsworth County Medical Center. A passenger in the Durango Sarah M. Martin, 31, Claflin, was transported to Wesley Medical Center. Anderson and a child in the Durango were not injured.

The KHP reported William and Delores Rabas and Sarah Martin were not wearing seat belts.
