The Geary County Historical Museum was the site for the Historical Society’s annual

ice cream social, and the annual Sunflower Quilters Guild Quilt Show this past weekend.
More than 200 people attended the ice cream social on Sunday where they were able to listen to musical performances by USD 475 middle school and Junction City High School musical groups, enjoy ice cream, cakes, and pies, and community fellowship.
Museum Director Sara Moppin stated they sold a great deal of food. “I like doing the cakewalk, and then I like that we showcase local talent with the students from the middle schools and the high school. I think it’s a wonderful opportunity for folks to come out and hear what the community has to offer.
The ice cream social raises funds to help support the operation of the museum.
The Quilt Show, which was held on both Saturday and Sunday, boasted a number of high qualify and colorful quilts which the public could view for free.
