For the first time since 2010, Kansas State University has the opportunity to host a Thursday evening football game on Sept. 18. Athletics Director John Currie consulted with both of us as the game with Auburn was being scheduled. This game gives our university incredible
national visibility, but the 6:30 p.m. kickoff also requires many considerations that do not occur when the football game is played on a Saturday.
We want to make clear that no classes will be canceled nor will any university hours be changed due to the game. We do recognize regular class and work schedules may cause complications for some individuals due to the increased traffic in and around campus. Again, we want to reiterate that all Kansas State University faculty, staff and students’ regular work and class schedules will be observed on Sept. 18.
This is an exciting opportunity for Kansas State University, and we thank you for your support and cooperation.
