The Junction City Police Deparment has been given approval by the City Commission to purchase new docking stations for their body worn cameras.
The Department has 36 Taser Axon Body Worn cameras that are worn by the patrol officers. the docking stations would allow the officers to plug in the cameras at the end of their shift for charging and the upload of video to evidence.com.
Police Chief Tim Brown said he feels the body cameras are an invaluable resource for the JCPD. “Not only will it protect our officers, but protect the citizens, and hopefully protect us in civil liability cases in the future.”
The purchase of the docking stations and five-year licensing and storage fees will be made with asset forfeiture funds.
