Architect Selected for K-State Student Union Renovation

ksu sealPartnering firms of Workshop Architects Inc. and Bowman Bowman Novick Inc. have been selected to design the final plans for the K-State Student Union renovation at Kansas State University. The firms are expected to begin planning phases on campus later in September.

The selection means the firms will continue their work on the Union project. They were selected in the fall of 2013 to develop a comprehensive architectural building program, conceptual design and phasing and sequencing recommendations.

Workshop focuses on creating environments for social interaction for colleges and universities.

Bowman is a local, multidiscipline design firm with offices in Manhattan and Kansas City, Missouri. Their portfolio includes Hale Library at Kansas State University, academic buildings, visitor and interpretive centers, religous buildings, residences, office buildings, recreational and athletic facilities, and downtown redevelopment.

K-State students approved the $25 million Union renovation project in the spring of 2013, and construction could begin as early as next summer.
