A Parade, 5K and Fun Runs, Toy and Car Shows, Kids Activities, Arts & Crafts, Pancake & Sausage and Hamburger Feeds are just some of the activities planned during the annual Labor Day Celebration in Chapman on Monday.

There will be food vendors selling everything from brats and homemade root beer to barbecue, a Pedal Pull for kids, a Tractor Exhibition, and Quilt Show.

The Parade is a centerpiece of the Celebration.

Bob Diehl of Chapman said it dates back more than 100 years in the Dickinson County community. He noted the Fort Riley Commanding General’s Mounted Color Guard will participate. School groups will be in the parade, which is open to anyone from the public who wants to enter.

There are some Sunday ( Aug. 31 ) activities as well ranging from a morning Lions Club 4-man Scramble golf tournament to an evening Street Dance from 8-10 p.m. and Fireworks Display north of the tennis courts at approximately nine p.m.
