The Kansas Department of Transportation has scheduled hundreds of projects for the next two years that will improve Kansas roads and bridges.

The list includes  expansion improvements in Geary County on a two mile stretch of U.S. Highway 77. The locations are at the K-18 Highway – Spring Valley Road intersection, and U.S. 77 from just north of the 77 – Lacy Drive – Goldenbelt Boulevard intersection north to just north of McFarland Road.

The scope of the projects include reconstructing the K-18 – Spring Valley Road intersection, and the widening of U.S. 77 southbound. That project will include intersection improvements at U.S. 77 and West Ash Street, and U.S. at McFarland Road.

The estimated starting date is July 30th for the work, with the ending date estimated at September 13, 2016.

The project cost has been calculated at $7,482,000.

Statewide the estimated cost of the work that will be under way during the 2015 and 2016 fiscal years, is about $1.2 billion.
