Boats Make Waves at This Years Float Your Boat

This years Float Your Boat Cardboard Boat Race came to an end at the gathering pond below the Milford Lake Dam Saturday afternoon.IMG_3325

Even though the location was changed due to blue-green algae advisory’s on the southern portion of the lake, this had little affect on the participants and the crowd.

This years boat race had 19  boats participating in the race,  with an estimated crowd of 300 people.

“We had 19 boats down here, had a lot of fun, perfect day for it, not to hot and we are very excited about the people that came from out of town and from out of state, not only to participate but to watch,” said Connie Hall, Director of the Geary County Convention and Visitors Bureau. IMG_3486

Participants came from all over, including St. Louis and Marshall, Missouri. Other areas include Junction City, Manhattan, Ft. Riley, Salina, Holton, Topeka and Wichita.
