Float Your Boat, sponsored by the Geary County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, will be held Saturday ( Aug. 16 ), but at a different location than originally planned.

Due to the blue green algae advisory in effect for the southern portion of Milford Lake, the beaches at Milford State Park are closed and barricades are up.

As a result Float Your Boat had to be moved from the State Park.

Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Director Connie Hall said it will be held at the Gathering Pond area below the Milford Lake Dam. The switch was made after a meeting with Corps of Engineers officials on Friday.
