Clark Wins Primary

Lonnie Clark, Junction City, defeated Allan Rothlisberg, Grandview Plaza in the Republicanelection clip art primary election for the 65th District seat in the Kansas House of Representatives on Tuesday.

Clark received 456 votes compared to 316 for Rothlisberg, who was the incumbent in the race.

Clark now advances to the November general election against Democrat Tom Brungardt.

During an interview with JCPost.com Clark called the win bittersweet. ” It means I get to play again so we’ll give it another round in November. I’m excited about it. ” On his bittersweet perspective he stated, “It’s one of those things that you work hard, you get wrapped up in it,  and you get so involved, it’s kind of like you hate to see the game end. It was a hard battle. He fought a good round. I think he had a good campaign going. I was surprised that the margin was as broad as it was.” Clark added he is extremely happy about the victory.

Brungardt was unopposed in the primary election Tuesday. According to Geary County Clerk Rebecca Bossemeyer 13.33% of the registered voters in the county voted in the primary election.
