Authorization has been given for work to commence on a capital campaign for economic chamberdevelopment in Junction City and Geary County.

That was the action that occurred at the monthly Chamber of Commerce Board of Director’s meeting. Chamber CEO Tom Weigand said formal RFP’s will be sought to finance the campaign. Those will be due back from banks next Wednesday.

Campaign manager expenses were approved.

That campaign manager Jerry Hinson will be at the Chamber Monday to begin working on the campaign, which is expected to stretch over a nine to ten month period. He will meet Monday with the chairman of the different Chamber divisions to begin working out a plan for the project.

The campaign is intended to raise an estimated $1.1 to $1.2 million dollars from the private sector for economic development.
