Former Geary County Commissioner Morris Dozier, Sr. of Junction City has died.  He was 92.

Dozier was first elected to the County Commission in November of 1972, and began serving his first term in January of 1973.  He served three terms on the governing body through 1984.

The Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel in Junction City announces visitation for Morris Dozier Sr. will be 10-11 a.m. this Thursday, July 31 at the Church of our Savior United Methodist Church.  His funeral service will follow at the Church at 11 a.m.

The Londeen Funeral Chapman announces the death of Gregory Steven Shepard, a lifelong resident of Chapman, KS.  He passed away at his home in Chapman at age 63.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 31 at the Scherer Memorial Lutheran Church in Chapman.  Pastor Amy Truhe will officiate.  The Chapman American Legion Post #240 will have an Honor Guard, playing of taps,  and folding of the Flag at the Church after the Memorial Service.

The family will have visitation at the Scherer Memorial Lutheran Church one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 P.M.  The family will have a private burial of the ashes at a later date.

Memorials may be given to the Scherer Memorial Lutheran Church, the Chapman Senior Center, or the Memorial of the Donor’s Choice sent in care of the Londeen Funeral Chapel, Box 429, Chapman, KS  67431.
