Anthony S. Nichols, of Kansas City, Kansas has been bound over for arraignment and trial in

Geary County District Court on charges including Premeditated First Degree murder, Armed Robbery, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. The information was provided by Geary County Attorney Steve Opat.
Arraignment is scheduled July 28 at 9 a.m. at which time a plea can be entered to the charges, and a jury trial can be scheduled in the case. Nichols was bound over following a preliminary hearing that lasted about 90 minutes in Geary County District Court.
Nichols is accused in the Sept. 7, 2013 shooting death of Anthony Nixon, 37, Junction City. Nixon died after being shot at the intersection of Tenth and Webster in Junction City.
Nichols is also charged in a Riley County case with First Degree Murder involving the stabbing death of John Burroughs, 68, Manhattan on Sept. 8,2013. The preliminary hearing for Nichols in that case is scheduled July 16 in Riley County.
