Brigade Rolls Past the Rattlers

Every player in the Junction City Brigade hitting lineup scored at least one run in a 13-1 routefw six of the Rossville Rattlers Friday night at Rathert Field.

Junction City coach Shane Sieben said the team talked about that stat after the game. “I was looking at the sheet there and saw that. It’s one of the things we talked about, is the fact we want to be competitive with every bat.”

Jordan Witcig got the pitching win for the Brigade after going six innings on the mound.

It was Geary Community Hospital and Geary County Employees night at the ballpark. The evening was capped off with a fireworks display by Bennett Fireworks.

Junction City, 9-6, will host Rossville, 5-12, again Saturday night at Rathert Field. The first pitch is scheduled at 7 p.m.

Elsewhere in the Mid Plains League Friday night the Baldwin City Blues defeated the Topeka Golden Giants 14-3, and the Midwest A’s downed the Topeka Senators 12-0.
