Memorial Fund Established to Help Fort Riley Soldier and His Family

The Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce has issued a statement from Patti Webb of the Fort RileyCombat Aviation Brigade / 3-1 AHB FRSA at Fort Riley. It states that a Memorial Fund has been set up to assist SGT Steven Boone and his children get through a difficult time following the death of his wife, Nicole,  and both of their infant sons, Isaac and Israel,  due to an amniotic embolism.

SGT Boone is a member of the Combat Aviation Brigade.

During the early morning hours of June 19, Nicole Boone, who was 36 weeks pregnant with twin boys, woke to go to the bathroom and realized her water had broken. Almost immediately she collapsed and passed away. An amniotic fluid embolism, which is an extremely rare obstetric emergency, claimed Nicole’s life when the amniotic fluid entered her bloodstream and traveled to her heart, like a blood clot.

Once at the hospital, a C-section was performed in an attempt to save the twins. Both babies were born alive, but Isaac only lived for a few minutes. Israel was placed on life support but on June 22 he was removed from life support and spent his final moments with his father, sister, and brothers.

Financial donations will go to Steve Boone and the children, with the main goal being to start a college fund for the four children.    You can visit the Memorial Fund website at https://www.gofundme.com/am6j48.
