The Junction City Fire Department reported that fire caused an estimated $20,000 damage to a
1420 North Adams house in Junction City on Monday afternoon. But there were no injuries to the Mark Pope family, who resides at that location. They escaped the house safely.
According to Fire Department Battalion Chief Rick Rook 13 firefighters responded to the scene. When they arrived they found light to moderate smoke showing from the roof line.
The fire was contained in the attic space and to an interior wall. Rook noted authorities believe the cause of the fire was electrical.
Firefighters were on the scene for about one-and-a-half hours.
