Brigade Baseball Postponed

The muddy field conditions at Rathert Field were still too wet for baseball Tuesday night. It forced the Brigade and Midwest Athletics to postpone their game on Tuesday night. They will now play a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Rathert Field.

Both games will be seven-inning contests.

brigadeBrigade coach Shane Sieben said they had to get the water off the field first, and then let the sun and wind work.  “For the most part it dried out the corners, but we’ve just got holes at third base, shortstop, and a big one at second base. They’re just kind of sunken down, just a muddy mess right now.

The water pooled on portions of the infield. Sieben said, “Big time. Looked like a lake this ( Tuesday ) morning. ”

The heavy rains Monday also cancelled the Monday night baseball game between the Brigade and the Athletics. One of the two rainouts will be made up Wednesday, but there has not been announcement on another makeup date, or if that game will be made up.
